Special Days and Celebrations

Birthdays are a very special event, especially in the life of a child. Arrangements are made between parents and teachers to celebrate the occasions at school with a party and exciting snack. Birthday treats may be purchased from local reputable peanut/nut free bakeries and sent in their original sealed packaging. Parents and family members are invited to join in the festivities.  Birthday invitations may be distributed at school or put in art bags. In-school special days include:

  • Show & Tell & Share
  • Heritage Week,
  • Career Day – when we invite a parent to share a career or hobby or have a visit from the local fire fighters  and their fire truck and perhaps dalmatian dog
  • Cooking and baking days
  • Scholastic Book orders
  • School Photo Day
  • Child created Melamine Plate and Bowl permanent artwork keepsakes
  • Colour Days
  • Hat Day
  • Tacky Tuesday/Wacky Wednesday – where everything is tacky and wacky, including the way we dress
  • Pajama Day – when we all wear our pajamas, bring a stuffed friend and have a pancake breakfast at school
  • Winter Picnic – during which we chase away those winter blues while the ants join us for an indoor picnic and summer fun while outdoors the snow is falling
  • Dinosaur  Digs –   where  young paleontologists try to find dinosaur remains and evidence
  • Space Voyages – where we eat space food while we tour the galaxy, etc.
