Parental Involvement

At Ridley Orchard School families, parents and staff work together to provide an environment that facilitates the growth of each child into a physically and emotionally healthy individual. Parents are an integral part of our successful education program.

Through parent/family active involvement we are better able to meet the developmental and personal needs of all children. Your active participation helps to give your child a strong sense of belonging and stability. In addition to your efforts enhancing our learning environment, your child will experience a special fulfillment only you can offer when sharing your time with their classmates. Families are welcome to join in special celebrations with their child and/or share their career, a hobby, heritage and community experiences. A parent participation form that outlines areas of involvement is provided with the application package and many monthly events also give you the opportunity to participate.

A First Aid Course in October provides opportunity for teachers, parents and caregivers to update their emergency techniques.  A Parent Night in November  provides opportunity for open dialogue with teachers and other parents.  Parent workshops/seminars are planned as needed through-out the year. Parent information boards keep parents informed and current on weekly program plans and activities, articles, notices, and school information.
