We have an open-door policy at Ridley Orchard School. A three-way relationship between child, parent and school requires ongoing commitment. Beyond the daily dialogue between parents/caregivers and teachers, there are many opportunities for parental active participation each month.

Parent meetings, school participation opportunities, birthday celebrations will be supplemented by reports cards and parent/teacher interviews.  Should any situation arise which requires immediate clarification or intervention, parents will be contacted at home.  Should parents have any questions for teachers, they are encouraged to call the school before 9:00am., between 11:45am. and 12:45pm. or after 3:15pm. In order to further facilitate communication between parents and teachers on a daily basis, a log book is available on the sign-in/out table for parents to record relevant information about their child to teachers and to set up individual meetings with teachers.

Parents are encouraged to visit their child in school, however, it is requested that the supervisor be informed in advance to confirm that the time and date is appropriate relative to the school’s planned activities. Open and honest communication is essential.  We believe strongly that establishing and maintaining a good relationship with parents is an essential component of a high quality education. We encourage all parents to use Ridley Orchard School as a resource; teachers are all trained professionals in the field of Early Childhood Education. We provide families with valuable information, recommend readings and are linked to many related agencies and professionals.
